Job Summary

Delivery drivers fulfill an important role in the success of the company, working under the direction and supervision of the Lumber Yard Manager to ensure that materials are delivered to the appropriate job sites, for retail and construction customers, throughout the Stoneburner service area. Drivers play a significant role in meeting company goals related to picking up and delivering equipment and materials according to schedule. A Delivery Driver/CDL role requires the operation of multi-axle highway equipment with GVWR in excess of 26,001 pounds for transporting construction equipment and/or materials.

Responsibilities and Duties

Arrive at the job site on time and leave at the end of the designated work day.
Follow company policies as outlined in the employee handbook and through performance and appearance reflect positively on your profession and the company.
Dress appropriately for a construction environment, always representing Stoneburner, Inc. in a professional manner.
Follow instructions of the lumber yard manager.
Perform all work correctly and accurately demonstrating conscientious and superior customer service according to Stoneburner Inc. standards.
Perform work according to current codes.
Adhere to all safety regulations and policies.
Work as part of the team to meet man hour goals for each job.
Communicate appropriately with supervisor regarding job issues, requests for sick or vacation leave or other job related matters.
Participate in formal and informal training opportunities when available or required to perform job duties proficiently.
Participate in any required meetings.
Assist with jobs or tasks within the company as necessary to adjust for work flow changes.
Performs required pre & post trip safety checks, maintains truck log according to state & federal regulations.
Keep trucks clean and in good working order. Drivers are responsible for minor repairs and servicing of assigned equipment to maintain safety and continued operation on a day to day basis.
Clearly communicate with supervisor, customers, and other Stoneburner team members regarding the status of deliveries and/or materials.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Training – High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience – At least 1 year of commercial vehicle driving experience.
Additional Skills or Requirements – Must meet all Federal D.O.T. regulations for drivers; possess a Class A commercial license with proper endorsements. D.M.V. record must not have more than (–1) demerit.
